Robin’s Story

Rockin' Robbie's Music Emporium was started by Robin Eig on Friday the 13th of October, 1995. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, Robin was a High School and Elementary School Band Director. After a number of years teaching, a business opportunity presented itself.

Rockin' Robbie's began in 1995 selling Printed Music as a wholesale distributor, supplying music stores all over Northern California. The company soon grew to include the importing of Ethnic Hand Drums from all over the world.  She then added several manufacturers of guitar straps including LM Products (Made in USA) and Steph fine Canadian made leather straps.

By 2009, East Bay Music, a staple in East County for decades, was up for sale, and Robin saw her opportunity to take her wholesale business to a new level. Adding retail, music lessons, and repair to the robust wholesale business was a no-brainer. No stranger to retail and music education herself, Robin felt it was time to drop "Music Emporium" from her moniker and adopt the decades of good will East Bay Music had developed in Concord. Thus Rockin' Robbie's East Bay Music was reborn.
